Haemodialysis

Haemodialysis is a treatment for kidney failure where the blood is purified through the extracorporeal removal of waste products and free water from the blood.  

Haemodialysis sessions will be tailored to the patients needs but generally will require a 4 hour session 3 times a week.  Haemodialysis can be carried out either in the renal unit at The Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow, or at Home after training takes place.
